Pyrmont Castle is located in  Roes, Germany not far from Eltz Castle. It was first mentioned in 1225 making parts of it over 700 years old. We visited the castle on a whim when we saw a brochure at the B&B where we stayed. Our main reason for being in the area was to visit Eltz Castle, which we did but we are not allowed to take pictures. So I am sharing Burg Pyrmont first.

Below are the views of the castle from outside. Restoration was started in 1944 and the work to make this what it is today started in 1964.

The interior was equally lovely, beautiful laid out with amazing light from the window…

I was surprised to learn that the castle was for hire for weddings and other events. And that the rooms are also available for those who wish to stay.

I love how each room is different…

It was also possible to go up the tower for a 360˚ view of the area.

All in all, our visit to Pyrmont Castle as a wonderful adventure. We all had fun.
