Stott Park Bobbin Mill is an extensive working mill that produced literally millions of wooden bobbins vital to the Lancashire spinning and weaving industries. It is located on the shores of Lake Windermere and is the only working bobbin mill left in the Lake District today.
We were guided around with excellent presentation from how the machines work and how dangerous life was for the workers of the mill. There is a small shop where you can buy a souvenir. It’s always good to get a souvenir since the money generated will go back to EH’s conservation of the place .
